Testimonials from graduates

"Bancroft’s program offered many advantages.  The Massage & Acupressure Instructors had extensive experience in both human and animal massage.  They were dedicated to our learning experience, guiding us though our hands-on practice sessions and always providing constructive feedback.  We practiced our hands-on skills, directly on our instructors, to fine tune techniques before application with animals.  It was a wonderful and rare opportunity to learn from these teachers."

Linda Saraco SAS03

"Hands-on bodywork services for animals have been difficult to find and sorely needed. There were very few practitioners because the training offered in this field was very limited. I am grateful to Bancroft for developing their Small Animal Massage Therapy Certification program and leading the way to foster public awareness of these practices. My completion of the program has helped provide me with a long-desired, gratifying career. I am especially appreciative that Bancroft has designed a program with a broad and comprehensive curriculum."

Lon Black SAS03

"I started this program with the intent of changing the entire direction of my professional life. I was completely fed up and burnt out with life in the corporate world, and after a lot of soul searching knew that I wanted to “work with animals” somehow – an old dream from my teenage years which has refused to die. I found out about Bancroft’s Small Animal Massage program through a search on the internet, went to an open house and enrolled."

"After going through the program, and especially after the internship, I feel completely confident in my massage abilities. The teachers are all wonderful, so supportive, positive and passionate about massage. They really helped me believe in myself when I had doubts."

"I could not be happier about attending this program: a year after starting and one week away from graduation, I’ve left my corporate job and started my own animal massage business. I already have clients and feel confident that the skills I’ve learned at Bancroft are going to make my business a success."

Nimble Limbs Animal Massage

As part of the Small Animal Massage Program, students participate in clinics to fulfill internship hours. These clinics are open to the general public. The Director of Animal Programs recently received the following letter from the owner of 3 dogs that received massage:

To everyone at Doggone U ,

I can't thank you enough for all the attention and wonderful massages that you gave my "kids." Not only did Ollie, Dilyn, and Lucy love the massages, but I really enjoyed learning all that you shared concerning how I could help my dogs lead a more comfortable life. I plan to continue to strengthen the muscles in Lucy's hind legs. And to "squeeze" the tight muscles in Ollie's right hind. I love my dogs and want them to live long, pain free lives. Thanks for teaching me so much about them. Thanks, Deb, Carol, Judy, and all the others who took the time to play and comfort and teach us.
