COVID Precautions:

The health of our students and teachers is our primary concern, while still providing an excellent educational experience that provides the necessary skills to be successful in animal massage. We are NOT running the Small Animal Program in 2024. The Equine Program is being held in March of 2024.

You can complete the Small Animal Massage Certification Program on-site in 12 months, plus you now have the option of distance learning. The course concentration is on feline and canine massage. A variety of species are discussed in class.

The faculty includes a variety of professional disciplines including: Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Licensed Massage Therapists and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioners.

 

Course length: 200 hours—161 in-class hours at Doggone U, 39 hours in an off-campus internship

Distance course: 200 hours  – 49 Hours of online classes,  112 Hours on-site at BSMT, 39 Hours Off-Campus Internship

Courses include: Small Animal Anatomy, Animal Behavior, Handling and Management, Animal Massage Techniques I and II, Passive Exercises, Animal First Aid and CPR, Business Practices/Ethics, Marketing, Internship, and more. Complete List of Courses.

Admission requirements: High School Graduate or equivalent.

12-Month Certification Program

Classes are in person and will be held two weekend days per month for 12 months from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Classes held at Destination Dog located at 7 Forge Parkway, Franklin, MA  02038. Classes in bold will be held via Zoom. Remainer are in person.

Start Date: To be determined!

A 39 hour internship is done in your area between July and September.            

The educational investment for the 200-hour program is $4,750.00. Payment plans available.
