How to Apply

To apply to Doggone U, you must submit a completed application form along with a $50.00 non-refundable application fee, two personal references (from someone you have known at least one year and to whom you are not related), a 500-word essay (topic: "I want to become an small animal massage therapist because...") , and a completed medical history form (included with application).

Applications will be processed in order received, and openings in the program will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis for all qualified candidates. All information submitted for purposes of applying to the Small Animal Massage Certification Program is confidential. The information will be used by Doggone U for the purposes of selecting a class of 14 for the program, and informing the applicant of future programs offered by Doggone U. Prospective students will be contacted by mail upon acceptance. If you would like more information on the school prior to filling out your application, you may schedule an informative talk with the Program Director or attend an Open House. Open Houses are held two or three times per year. Please call the office for more details. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

If a student has a documented learning disability and/or any handicap, he/she must submit to the Admissions Office a diagnostic report in the format of a full medical evaluation from a licensed clinician. Doggone U requires that the report include a specific diagnosis and a narrative describing functional limitations of the disorder. This clinical evaluation will be used to provide the student with adequate accommodations to help the student successfully complete the program. The student may be provided with tutorials, oral or private testing, extra time allotted for exam and/or other accommodations listed in the clinician's report.
